What Is Google Search Console
Google Search Console is a free service offered by Google that helps website owners monitor and maintain their site's presence in Google Search results. It provides valuable insights into how Google views your site and offers tools to improve your search performance.
Step-by-Step Guide To Getting Indexed
1. Set Up Google Search Console
If you haven't already, sign up for Google Search Console and verify ownership of your website. This process typically involves adding a meta tag to your site's HTML or uploading a file to your web server.
2. Use the URL Inspection Tool
Once you're in Google Search Console:
- Navigate to the "URL Inspection" tool in the left sidebar
- Enter the full URL of the page you want to be indexed
- Google will analyze the URL and show you its current status
3. Request Indexing
After Google has inspected your URL:
- If the page is not indexed, you'll see a "Request Indexing" button
- Click this button to submit your page for indexing
- Google will add your page to its priority crawl queue
While using Google Search Console can significantly improve your chances of getting indexed, it's important to remember that indexing is not instantaneous. Google still needs to process your request, which can take anywhere from a few hours to several days.
