Building Your Lifecycle Marketing Funnel

I engage quite a bit on LinkedIn and a recent trend I have seen is a lot of marketers saying that the marketing funnel is broken, there is no funnel, MQLs are a waste of time, there isn't a linear path from potential buyer to customer, and numerous things trying to sound like they've reinvented the wheel.

And even when asked, "If you don't like the funnel, how do you do marketing?" You tend to get a bunch of words that don't make any sense, there is a reason the funnel has lasted decades. And before you say, well HubSpot doesn't use the funnel anymore but the flywheel, it's still a funnel, they just wanted to be able to coin a phrase, even the new Bowtie Method is still a funnel.

Personally, with the amount of noise these days and the pressure from above to always be driving more and more pipeline, the marketing funnel and the true purpose of it have gotten lost in translation.
