Let The World Know You Exist
At the very beginning of your SaaS Journey, you have an idea of who you built your platform for but you can't be 100% certain who it's going to resonate with and be able to see the potential you are offering.
The idea here is to get your platform out into the world as much as possible while at the same time not spending a lot of money. You need to ensure you keep your ads highly targeted and that your advertisements are clear and answer all the important questions which include:
- What outcome(s) and result(s) you are claiming prospects can gain with your platform; functional, emotional, and status
- Proper expectations that they'll gain what you're promising
- How long it takes for them to gain the outcomes
- How much effort it will take from them to achieve the outcomes
For each of the networks below, I'll share how to set them up and offer best practices for formatting so that your message stands out and you can connect with more potential buyers.
Getting Started With Digital Advertising
The platforms listed below have the best targeting to ensure you aren't wasting any money going after someone who probably wouldn't see any value in your offer.

LinkedIn Advertising
LinkedIn has some of the best targeting capabilities for a social media platform and with 66.8 million monthly active users in the United States, there is a good chance of connecting with numerous people in your market.

Google Adwords
Google Adwords is a great way to extend the reach of your brand online. Google Search manages 61.4% of online searches in the US market and there are two ways to target people.
Google Search Ads
Google Search Ads are designed to target people while using the search engine to find the answers to their questions. Depending on the industry you are in and how aware your prospects are, you can use Google Search Ads to capture high-intent leads and drive them to your solutions.
Google Display Ads
If you want to make a large splash in the market, you can place ads on the Google Display Network, which allows you to reach the most people, where they visit the most online, and not break the bank.
The Google Display Network (GDN) is a group of more than 2 million websites, videos, and apps where your Google Ads can appear.

YouTube Preroll Ads
YouTube still commands the most viewership for videos, with 247 million users, and second-largest search engine on the internet, it's a must to use in your marketing efforts.
With YouTube, there are two main types of ads that most people use. In both cases, the ads are played right before the video they choose plays.
Skippable In-Stream Video Ads
Skippable ads allow the person viewing the video to skip the ad once it's played for the first 5 seconds. The best part about these ad types, is you only get charged if the person viewing continues to watch your ad for more than 30 seconds, the entire ad (if your ad is under 30 seconds), or if they click on the ad. All good things for you.
Non-Skippable In-Stream Video Ads
Non-Skippable ads work the same process as the skippable, but as you read, the person viewing, can't skip and is forced to watch the entire ad. Considering some 76% of people skip the ads when they see them, this ad type serves best when you really want people to discover what you have to offer. These ads are charged based on impressions, per 1000 views (CPM), to be exact.
These Are Just The Start
In the world of advertising, these three networks only break the ice. As you have more budget, be sure to look for niche ad networks specifically to your industry as well as other routes, even including more traditional routes such as tv, radio, and direct mail, depending on your target market and expectations.
