You Need Content Marketing & Copywriting
They say content is king, right? But is all content the same? Some people say content marketing and others say copywriting, what is the difference?

What's The Difference
Whether it's content marketing or copywriting, a coherent approach is crucial to stay ahead of the competition. We'll help you create and implement a well-designed content strategy and copywriting that's on-brand and resonates with your audience when you work with us.
But what is the difference?
Driving Interest To Your Platform With Content
Content marketing is publishing content of interest to your audience. This can be blog posts, visual assets, videos, infographics, podcasts, webinars, and more.
With every piece of content you publish, think about how it will add value for the reader and your subscribers. At no point should someone get to the end of the content and think that was a waste of time.
Content Marketers Need To Be Storytellers

When writing content marketing, the idea here is to tell stories and connect with the prospect in front of you. Content marketing should be designed to build trust and rapport with the reader by giving them ideas, inspiration, or encouragement so that they see you as a friend or someone who wants to help them.
Once you have made a genuine connection you can then move on to the next stage, copywriting.
One thing to think about before moving ahead is asking yourself, does the reader trust me, and have I built enough rapport with the reader to now ask them something?
Principle Of Reciprocity
People are obliged to give back to others when they first receive something from them.
In simple terms, the more you can give away for free before making an ask for something, may that be as simple as contact information in a form or further down the path of payment, you need to ensure you've built enough rapport for the next step before taking it.
Too often, companies and founders want to join directly to copywriting and persuade people to buy when they don't know who you are, trust you, or find you a valuable source of information.
This would be the equivalent of walking up to someone at the bar and saying nothing but can I have your number? It may work if you're Ryan Reynolds, but likely it won't for you or I.
Selling Your Platform With Copywriting

A copywriter is a professional writer responsible for writing the text, or copy, used in marketing and promotional materials.
Copywriters Must Be Writers But Also Experts In Persuasion
Copywriters are very similar to content marketers with one key difference, the purpose of copywriting is to persuade someone to take action and move onto the next stage of the buyer's journey.
Copywriting Has A Purpose And An Objective
If you are seeing low conversions on your website or ads, it usually is one of two reasons:
- You are either targeting the wrong audience with the message
- The copy of the message is saying the wrong thing and isn't either capturing the interest of the prospect or persuasive enough to get them to take action
Good copywriting can only help in the second case, so before you blame your copywriter, check to make sure the people seeing your message are part of your ideal customer profile.
Copywriting Has A Beginning, Middle, And End
There are three stages to copywriting.
The first is a catchy headline or introduction paragraph that captures the interest of the prospect.
Next, the copy should be personalized to the prospect and iterate a pain point you know they have. How your copy is written is intended to make them feel that pain and resonate with it consciously.
Lastly, the copy should have a call to action that points the prospect down the path toward your solution and paints a picture in their minds of that pain is relieved.
Key Takeaways
You should hire a content marketer if you need someone to build trust and create emotional connections. Hire a copywriter if you want to sell your product or service.
When done properly and together, you can create a powerful marketing strategy.
