Communication & Expectations
Effective delegation is crucial for SaaS brand success. The 5 Levels of Delegation Framework provides a structured approach to setting communication and expectations clearly from the outset:
Level 1: Direct Execution
Follow instructions precisely without deviation. This level is appropriate when the decision-maker has already researched options and determined the exact course of action.
Level 2: Research & Report
Conduct thorough research on the topic and gather relevant information. Present findings to the decision-maker, who will then make the final decision and provide further instructions.
Level 3: Research & Recommend
Investigate the situation at hand, outline available options and present well-reasoned recommendations. Provide a comprehensive analysis of the pros and cons for each option, along with your suggested course of action. The decision-maker will review and authorize which recommendation they agree with.
Level 4: Decide & Inform
Make decisions independently based on your research and judgment. Keep the decision-maker informed of your actions to ensure alignment and prevent surprises.
Level 5: Autonomous Action
Exercise full autonomy in decision-making and implementation. There's no need for regular reporting, as the decision-maker trusts your expertise and judgment completely. You have full support to act as you see fit.
